“Meet Marradi” … the people, the town, and the spirit of a special village in Italy. This is the place where I live, work, and play.
When I am asked about my story and how I arrived in this small town of Marradi, Italy, my response is always, “Marradi found me!” There is no other way to put it into words.
My goal in this blog entry is to give you an idea of how truly lucky I am to be part of this community; not only because of the people, but also because of the beautiful area. It is a way of life I have fully embraced and can not imagine my life existing anywhere else.
Let me introduce Caroline and Chiara of Bar Sport
Bar sport was purchased about a year ago by these to energetic gals. Caroline and Chiara work hard to keep the long history of the bar as a gathering place alive.
There is no question you can get a fine cup of cappuccino in the morning with a stout espresso in the afternoon or the Italian favorite mid afternoon drink “Spritz”.
This is a place where people congregate to discuss the past and mull over the latest topics. On any given day you can see the people of Marradi playing cards, meeting friends, and enjoying conversation over aperitivo.
Personally I am hooked on the cappuccino. Chiara or Caroline make always exactly the same rich creamy.

Aperitivo is another chance to enjoy a spritz while the light breeze blows through the town square. You can do a bit of ease dropping on the chatter of the locals. The perfect way to continue my on going studies of the Italian language.
